Nothing new going on, but I was browsing and thought i'd be good to make an update. Well I say nothing new but really...
We have a new dolphin. His name is Toby, a young adult, male, bottlenose. He stranded the Thursday before Thanksgiving with rake marks, and a shark bite. He had a bit of pneumonia too. He seems to be doing well and hopefully we can release him back into the wild in a few months.
Don't know if I've written about my latest baby! Fiona! My new bearded dragon. She is a doll! And a brat! and I love her to pieces! She is going to be a big girl. She grew three inches over the course of a month.
I'm a little upset because all of my grey treefrogs are dead now. Very sad ; >; I even managed to get little Ash to the vet and get his leg amputated. The vet was all excited because he'd never done a surgery on someone so little. The surery went well and Ash was fine. Until three weeks later when he dropped dead! I think that pesticide guy for our apartment either sprayed my room (which I left a note for him NOT TO DO) or a sprayed bug somehow managed to get into Ash's cage.
Finals are here, I just finished my biochem final. I really think I got a soild C in that class. Hey, don't knock it! That class was hard! I just need to do my finals on Tuesday and I'll be free!!!!!
I'm offically signed up for graduation in May. I'll keep my fingers crossed that something crazy doesn't happen like last time, and I'll actually get to graduate.
Ok, last little bit. Anyone reading this have Asia chubby frogs/ Asia bull frogs (Kaloula pulchra)? The pet stores all seem to carry K. beleata and they are huge compared to my little chubby. Is this species supposed to be smaller? Do I just have a male? Or maybe they just grow slow?

I'm sitting in class looking up pictures of frogs online, and missing my Willow terribly. I have only little Ash left and I am concerned for his health. I can not afford to take him to the vet's for treatment on his leg, but he probably needs it. Ash's right hind leg appears to be paralyzed. Unfortunately, there is only one vet in corpus that specializes in herps. I think the leg needs to be amputated but 1) not sure I can afford the X-rays 2) not sure a vet would be willing to work on a creature only 1.5in long and wieghing a few grams.
I'm freaking out about all my babies currently: Ash's leg, the beardie's digestion, one of my betta fish has pop-eye.

It's 1:00 AM and I have nothing better to do than go through my old music folders that have needed organizing for more than 2 years. I consolidated all the anime/J-Pop/J-rock into one folder. Now, that is a huge folder that has odds and ends that I need to remove, like gamer music. But at least I don’t have folders like “Unknown Artist” and "".
LOL I just went from one of the FMA openings to christmas music out of 8-bit.
I need to upload pictures of my new beardie! She is so cute; a red/gold sandfire with really brilliant markings. Her name is Fiona. I'm currently spazzing about appropriate cage sizing and she is only 8'' or so right now. New Mommy Syndrome!

Someone else on the board posted that Laurell K. is like a friend you've known since grade school but haven't liked since high school. I haven't read the new book yet, and I probably will no matter how bad the reviews. Still it's funny to see peoples' reactions. Tanya Huff is back on my radar, and I still love Kim Harrison and Patricia Briggs. Now if only I had the time and the money to read all my books.

Hey all, I'm just sitting here looking out over the bay. It's a pretty day, it is in the 70s F. Of course for this Texan that is still pretty damn cold. My fingers are frozen. I'm wasting time before going to work.
I had a discussion with Carol yesterday about Orson Scott Card and why I think he is such a good writer. Well I ran across http://www.starshineandshadows.com. The writer is a critic of various sci-fi/fantasy type works and has a lot to say about Card and the Enderverse. I wanted to post a few quotes from the page that I thought were interesting.
I didn't realize how long my ramble was going to be. I have since put it behind an LJ cut for anyone interested in literary work. ( Card rant )

Hey all,
This is a random posting in an attempt to purge my soul. Hopefully someone helpful will stumble across it. I just needed to rant.
I'm having nightmares again and didn't want to wake anyone in the apartment. I hate my dreams, they are literally examples of my own worst fears. usually the things i can't admit to myself outside of dreams. just know that it had a lot to do with a flood, a bunch of snakes and people getting hurt. I know that ultimately I have huge, donkey testicle sized control issues and the upcoming holidays provoke them.
i hate going home, i think I'm beginning to hate Christmas

For the first time in a long time I am really happy!!! :) I got my sandfish skink to eat and drink this morning. He seems to be on the mend. I did notice that my poor frogs are feeling a bit neglected. The larger water dish was dry. no water = pissy frogs so i'm gonna go get some extra small crickets later.

Hey,
Don't know how many people actually read my journal but...
I just bought a sandfish skink. VERY CUTE! He is on the oh-my-god! side of too skinny. The pet store either didn't feed him or gave him parasites. So I'm looking for an appropriate name. Sandfish skinks are lizard that come from North Africa-Iran-Iraq area of the world. They have webbed feet and literally swim through loose sand. So far Eisenheim the Illusionist has been suggested because you almost never see sandfish above the sand. Anyone else?

Hadn't posted in a while and thought I might want to. Can't actually tell if I do or not, that's more than my brain can comprehend.
The war has officially started. Like everything else in my life it happened without my consent. I have decided that it is impossible to concentrate on school and health at the same time. I have taken a stand against the Great Evil and told it I wasn't going to follow blindly anymore.
Supposedly you can't have courage without fear. Then I must be very courageous, because I am so scared I want to curl into a ball and weep. Being the inhuman-human that I am it took me a while to realize why I had the shakes so bad, and why my DP/DR was getting worse. Those are symptoms of anxiety. Who knew!
The battle for my freedom has begun, may sanity win the day.
